RESOLUTION NO. 42 -1980
RESOLUTION DECLARING INTENT TO ELECT
CRIMINAL JUSTICE ENTITLEMENT STATUS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, herein called the "entitlement" has
thoroughly considered available information from the Florida
Council on Criminal Justice, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN OPEN MEETING ASSEMBLED IN
PLANTATION KEY, MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, THIS 12TH DAY OF
FEBRUARY, 1980, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, declares its intent to elect criminal justice
entitlement status with the Florida Council on Criminal
Justice in order to participate as an entitlement jurisdic-
tion during fiscal years 1981-1983 as prescribed by the
Justice System Improvement Act of 1979 (PL. 96-157); and
2. That William A. Freeman, Jr., Sheriff, be authorized
to file in behalf of the entitlement a comprehensive applica-
tion in the form prescribed by the Florida Bureau of Criminal
Justice Assistance for a criminal justice improvement grant;
and
3. The said William A. Freeman, Jr., Sheriff, is
further authorized to furnish such information and take such
action as may be necessary to enable the entitlement to
qualify for said grant.
