RESOLUTION NO. 91 -1980
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO CONDUCT A TRAFFIC STUDY
TO CONSIDER INSTALLATION OF BLINKER
LIGHTS IN THE BIG PINE KEY AREA.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida,
that there exists a serious traffic hazard in the Big Pine
Key area at two locations:
1. Junction at U. S. Highway No.1 and Wilder
Road/Key Deer Boulevard, and
2. Entrance and exit at St. Peter's Church,
and
WHEREAS, this area is heavily travelled by travelling
motorists and citizens of Monroe County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to insure the safety of
said travelling motorists and the citizens of Monroe County,
Florida, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, hereby requests the Department of Trans-
portation to make a traffic study to consider the installation
of blinker lights in the Big Pine Key area of U. S. Highway
No.1 at the following two locations:
1. Junction at U. S. Highway No. 1 and Wilder
Road/Key Deer Boulevard, and
2. Entrance and exit at St. Peter's Church,
ln order to alleviate the hazardous traffic conditions
existing there now.
2. That the Clerk of said Board be and he is hereby
directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to

appropriate action.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners
of Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the
8th day of April, 1980.
