RESOLUTION NO.210- 1980
RESOLUTION REQUESTING SENIOR CITIZENS ADMIS-
SION PROGRAM TO BE ESTABLISHED IN STATE PARKS.
WHEREAS, the health and welfare of our Senior Citizens
1S fostered by the use of recreational facilities available
through the State Park System, and,
WHEREAS, the State Park System is under the State of
Florida, Natural Resources Department of Recreation and Parks
Division, and,
WHEREAS, the cost of using the State Park System,
including campgrounds, has more than doubled during the past
year, and,
WHEREAS, the income of Senior Citizens in Monroe County
are fixed, and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has 1n it's Federal

Park System established a Federal Park System Sertfor~Cit!zen

Admission Program which allows the Senior Citizens to use the
Federal Park System at a reduced cost,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, does hereby request all state officials to
initiate such action as is necessary in order to establish a
Senior Citizen Admission Program which would assure the Senior
Citizens of being able to use the State Parks located in Monroe
County and other parks throughout the State of Florida, to pro-
vide for their health and welfare by reducing rates for admission
to Senior Citizens and/or establishing a yearly Senior Citizen
Pass Program.
2. That a copy of this resolution be directed to the
State of Florida - Natural Resources Department of Recreation and
Parks Division, Monroe County Legislative Delegation, and such
other appropriate officials.
