RESOLUTION NO. 4 - 1981
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A NURSING HOME FACILITY
IN THE MIDDLE KEYS
WHEREAS, the Health Systems Agency of South Florida recommended
approval of a certificate of need for the construction of a Nursing
Home in Marathon, Florida area;
WHEREAS, the State of Florida's Office of Community Medical
Facilities chose not to accept the recommendation of the HSA of
South Florida and its Monroe County Sub-area Council and approved
a competing proposal instead, and
WHEREAS, The Monroe County Commission, on October 21, 1980,
adopted a resolution in support of the Health System Agency's
analysis and recommendation, and
WHEREAS, The State of Florida's Office of Community Medical
Facilities must still make a final decision sometime in the future,
on the matter, and
WHEREAS, any further delay in obtaining adequate nursing home
facilities in Monroe County will be contrary to the well being of
Monroe County's population of senior citizens, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Monroe County Commission does hereby re-
affirm its resolution of October 21, 1980 in support of the local
planning agency's recommendation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Monroe County Commission does
hereby employ the members of the Monroe County legislative delegation
to assist in effecting an early determination by the Office of Community
Medical Facilities regarding the Marathon Nursing Home application that
is responsive to the local community's needs and wishes as determined by
the HSA of South Florida and its Monroe County Sub-area Council.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held on 13th of
January, A.D, 1981,
