RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO
EXECUTE A RISK MANAGEMENT CONSULTING AGREEMENT BY
AND BETWEEN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND RISK CONTROL ASSOCIATES,
INC.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
That the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, is hereby authorized to execute a Risk
Management Consulting Agreement by and between the Board of
County Commissioners of Monroe County, FloYlda, and Risk Control
Associates, Inc., a copy of same being attached hereto.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 13th
day of January, A.D. 1981.

RISK MANAGEMENT CONSULTING AGREEMENT
this Agreement, entered into this
27th
day of January
1981, by and between the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, he.oeinafter referred to as the "County", and
Risk Control Associates, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the "Con-
sultant", is for insurance and risk management services.
WHEREAS, the County desires to utilize the services of the
Consultant in connection with its risk exposures, and
WHEREAS, the Consultant desires to render such services,
NOW, T~EREFORE, the parties hereto mutually agree as follows:
1. The Consultant shall:
A. Prepare a comprehensive audit of the County's present
insurance and risk management program in conjunction
with a risk exposure survey.
B. Report on the feasibility of self-insurance and/or
partial self-insurance.
C. Draw specifications for insurance and/or insurance
r('lated services in regard to self-insurance adminis-
tration.
D. Evaluate proposals received as a result of specifi-
cations.
F ~1;lke recomlllendations to the County for the implemen-
tation of a practical risk management program.
2. The County shall:
A. Make available all insurance policies, bonds, contracts,
reports, claims information, and any other data which
may be required by the Consultant to properly fulfill
the obligations of this Agreement.
B. Compensate the Consultant at the rate of $60.00 per
hour, which rate shall include any costs incurr,ed
due to travel, room, board or any other out-of-
pocket expenses incurred in performing this contract
but in no event shall the total sum to. be paid to
Consultant exceed $10,000.00.
C. The Consultant shall, on a monthly basis, beginning
the first of each month after this contract becomes
effective, present the County a monthly billing,
h']l:.c:h billing shall include details of each of the
hours expended as well as a summary of services
performed.
3. The scope of the assignment will include Property, Casualty,
Surety and Workers Compensation.

L This Agreement may be terminated by the County upon ten (10)
days written notice to the Consultant, in which evcnt the
Consultant shall be entitled to compensation for all work
completed and in progress.
