RESOLUTION NO.19 -1978
RESOLUTION REQUESTING CITY OF KEY WEST, FLORIDA
TO REMOVE PARKING METERS IN FRONT OF THE MONROE
COUNTY COURTHOUSE AND REPAIR SIDEWALKS.
WHEREAS, the condition of the existing sidewalks in front
of the Honroe County Courthouse require repairs and modifications,
and
TNHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the citizens
of Monroe County and the citizens of the City of Key West, Florida,
to provide for parking capability without parking meter control,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That the Board does hereby request that the City of
Key West immediately take all action necessary to have the side-
walks in the County Courthouse complex repaired, and further, that
the dirt areas existing between the present sidewalk and the curb-
ing be eliminated in order to reduce any possible occurrence of
accidents and to reduce the cost of maintenance.
2. That the parking meters presently located on \~itehead
Street in front of the County Courthouse be removed in order to pro-
vide for parking to residents of Monroe County and the citizens of
Key West, Florida, to conduct their business with the County without
expense to said residents.
