RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPOR-
TATION TO INSTALL SIGN DIRECTING MOTORISTS ON
U. S. 1 IN THE CITY OF KEY WEST, FLORIDA, AS TO
LOCATION OF CHARTER BOATS IN THE GARRISON BIGHT
AREA.
WHEREAS, the motorists and tourists coming to the Florida
Keys do so for the purpose of enjoying the water and fishing in
the area; and
WHEREAS, in the City of Key West, Florida, there exists
one major charter boat location in the Garrison Bight area and
such location is poorly marked for the information of the motorists
and tourists, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY.COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:.
1. That the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, does hereby request that the Department of Trans-
portation, State of Florida, install an adequate sign within the
limits 'of the City of Key West- and approximate .to the Garrison
Bight area providing for sufficient information and size such that
the tourists and/or motorists will be adequately informed as to
the location of the commercial charter boat area.
2. That such sign would be in the best interest and
welfare of the citizens of Monroe County, State of Florida, and
their safety.
3. Mat a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded
to the Department of Transportation, State of Florida, for appro-
priate action.
