RESOLUTION NO. 59-1978
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANS-
PORTATION TO INSTALL CROSS -OVER LANES IN KEY
LARGO.
WHEREAS, there exists a major traffic flow and intersection
problem at the junction of U. S. Highway No. 1 and Hialeah Lane, George
Street and Tropical Lane at Cross Key Waterways in the:Key Largo., Monroe
County, area, and
WHEREAS, such problem presents a major safety hazard to the
citizens of Monroe County, as well as the visitors to Monroe County, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA:

1. That the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, hereby request the Florida Department of Transportation to take
immediate steps to install cross -over lanes and any other traffic controls
deemed necessary in order to eliminate the traffic hazards at the inter-
sections of U. S. Highway No. 1 and Hialeah Lane, George Street and Tropical
Lane at Cross Key Waterways in the Key Largo area, Monroe County, Florida.
2. That the Cl.erk of said Board be and he is hereby directed
to forward certified copies of this resolution to _the State of Florida
Department of Transportation for appropriate -action.
