RESOLUTION NO. 99-1978
A RESOLUTION OPPOSING RE-CLASSIFICATION OF
ROADS IN MONROE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the State Legislature in its!1977 Session passed
new State laws which have a sweeping; effect on the designation of
the various road systems in the State of Florida, an-d
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation has sub-
mitted to the County of Monroe a proposed system of functional
classification, and
WHEREAS, the Board of. County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, has reviewed the proposed functional classifi-
cation and designation of the road system in Monroe County, and
does -object to the -proposed classification and designation, now,
therefore,
BE IT -RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. That formal objection to the proposed classification
and designation as proposed'by the Florida Department of Trans-
portation is hereby made by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida.
2. Further, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, does hereby request that the proposed'classifica-
tion and designation of the following roads be made:
A. State Highway System
(1) All of old State Road 4A and State Road 5.
(2) In the City of Key West: Bertha Street,
First Street, Garrison Bight Causeway,
Eaton Street and Flagler Avenue.
(3) Designated roads 941; 939, except Crane
Boulevard; 940,.931., 905, and 905A.
