Resolution 085-1976 RESOLUTION NO. 85_1976 WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 160 concerning county road con- struction which said bill would prohibit counties from owning asphalt plants and would prohibit counties' road crews from doing more than $5,000 worth of work per year in road construction, re- construction, resurfacing and maintenance and require all projects over the $5,000 aggregate annual cap to be on a competitive bid basis, and WHEREAS, said bill is now being considered by the Govern- mental Operations Committee and probably will be heard by the Transportation Committee of the State Legislature, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COW1ISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that it hereby goes on record as being opposed to the passage of Senate Bill 160 and urges Monroe County's Legislative Delegation to oppose said bill as well as the Committee on Governmental Operations and the Transportation Committee of the State Legislature. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that certified copies of this resolution be sent to all members of the Governmental Operations Committee, the Transportation Committee, and the Legis- lative Delegation representing Monroe County in the Florida Legislature.
