RESOLUTION NO. 149-1976
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, is seeking funds under a Federal grant for the
purpose of constructing County facilities to house County offices
for court purposes, other County offices for the State Attorney,
Judges of the various courts, courtroom facilities, welfare pur-
poses, County Health Clinic facilities, and other County functions
deemed necessary by said Board, and
WHEREAS, the District School Board of Monroe County,
Florida, has indicated its willingness to lease available lands
in the area in which the Key Largo Elementary School is located for
a period of ninety-nine (99) years for the purposes set forth
above, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the District School Board of Monroe
County, Florida, be and it is hereby requested to grant a ninety-
nine (99) year lease on land which is now in the legal possession
of said Board in the area on Key Largo, Monroe County, Florida,
on which the Key Largo Elementary School is located for the purpose
of constructing a County office complex including but not limited
to the facilities hereinabove set forth.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that said District
School Board of Monroe County, Florida, be and it is hereby re-
quested to expedite the leasing of the above referred to lands to
said Board of County Commissioners in order that applications may be
made as soon as possible for a grant of Federal Funds from which
said County office complex may be constructed.
BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that certified
copies of this resolution be forwarded to the District School Board
of Monroe County, Florida, for appropriate action.
