Resolution 051-1977RESOLUTION NO. 51 - 1977 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE, AUTHORIZING THE DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE TO EXECUTE THE REQUIRED APPLICATION AND DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO OBTAIN A FEDERAL GRANT FROM THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND WELFARE FOR NON- COMMERCIAL, EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING FACILITIES AND AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTA- TIVE TO EXECUTE ASSURANCE OF COMPLIANCE WITH TITLE VI AND VII OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964 AND EXECUTIVE ORDERS 11296, 11288 AND 11246. WHEREAS, The BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA possesses the legal authority to apply for a grant from the Office of Education, U. S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare for Noncommercial, Educational Facilities for the residents of Monroe County as a public necessity and in the public interest; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA as follows: Section 1. That JACK K. BURKE, Development Director for the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners be and he is hereby designated and authorized representative and autho- rized to execute and file, on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, an application for a Federal Grant for Non - Commercial, Educational Facilities from the Office of Education, U. S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare for the residents of Monroe County. Section 2. That JACK K. BURKE, in behalf of Monroe County, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information as the U. S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare may reasonably request in connection with the application. Section 3. That JACK K. BURKE, Development Director for the Board, be and he is hereby authorized to execute forms assuring compliance with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended and any regulation issued pur- suant thereto. That the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA will comply with the requirements of Executive Order 11296, relating to evaluation of flood hazards, and Executive Order 11288, relating to the prevention, control, and abatement of water pollution, and Executive Order 11246 as amended by Executive Order 11375, pertaining to equal employment opportunity in federally assisted contracts. Section 5. That this resolution shall be in full force and effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of April, 1977.
