RESOLUTION NO. 97_1977
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CHAIRMAN OF
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BY AND BETIJEEN
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND CATES CONSTRUCTION COM-
PANY FOR INSTALLATION OF MEZZANINE IN TAX COLLECTOR'S
OFFICE, MONROE COUNTY COURTHOUSE, KEY WEST, FLORIDA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
That the Mayor and Chairman of the Board be authorized to
execute a contract by and between Monroe County, Florida, and
Cates Construction Company, copy of same being attached hereto,
for the installation of a mezzanine in the Tax Collector's Office,
located in the Monroe County Courthouse, Key West, Florida.
Passed and adopted by the Board of County Conrnissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 7th day
of June, 1977.

A G R E E MEN T
THIS AGREEMENT, Made this 7th day of June, 1977,
by and between CATES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, a Florida corporation,
of the County of Monroe and State of Florida, hereinafter called
the Contractor, and MONROE COUNTY, a political subdivsion of the
State of Florida, hereinafter called the Owner.
WITNESSETH, that the Contractor and the Owner for the
consideration hereinafter named, agree as follows:
1. The Contractor shall furnish all the materials and
perform all the work as required to install mezzanine floor
and renovate the Monroe County Tax Collector's office at
500 Whitehead Street, Key West, Florida, in accordance with
the plans consisting of one (1) sheet, said work not to include
any electrical installation or otherwise.
2. The work to be performed under the contract shall
commence on or before June 7, 1977 and be completed not later
than August 24, 197:7.
3. The Owner shall pay to the Contractor for the per-
formance of the contract in current funds as follows:
(a) $5,000.00 upon demolition of existing
area necessary to accomplish the work
less 10% to be withheld until final
completion and acceptance of the work.
(b) $5,000.00 upon installation of mezzanine
floor and stairs less 10% to be withheld
until final completion and acceptance of
the work.
(c) The remalnlng unpaid balance to be paid upon
completion and acceptance of work by Owner.
4. The attached copy of proposal together with this
Agreement, form the contract and they are as fully a part of
this contract as if herein repeated.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
agreement the day and year first above written.
