Resolution 003-1961 RESOLUTION NO. .3 -1961 - Secondary Roads WHEREAS, the State Road Department of Florida is now paving Flagler Avenue in the City of Key West, Florida as a Secondary Road Project, paying for said construction out of Monroe County Secondary Road funds, and WHEREAS, the bicycle path previously placed on Flagler Avenue out of Secondary Road funds has become unsafe for pedestrians and bicycle riders, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County considers the paving of said bicycle path as an emergency, and WHEREAS, said Board desires to have said bicycle path black- topped at the same time the said Flagler Avenue is being paved, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the State Road Department of Florida be, and it is hereby authorized to black-top the bicycle path on Flagler Avenue, Key West, Florida, and to negotiate with the contractor now paving Flagler Avenue, as a Monroe County Secondary Road Project, and to pay for the cost of black-topping said bicycle path out of Monroe County Secondary Road funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this Resolution to the State Road Department of Florida for appropriate action.
