RESOLUTION NO. 29 -1962
SECONDAR Y ROADS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida previously adopted Resolution No. 28-1962, Secondary Roads, on
November 13, 1962, and
WHEREAS, said Board now desires to rescind said Resolution, and
WHEREAS, said Board feels that the primary road within Monroe
County, to-wit, U. S. Highway #1, needs to be reconstructed by four-
laning same in those areas where it is feasible, and
WHEREAS, said Board is desirous of having a survey made with
regard to four -laning said primary road, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County, Florida has no employees to make such
a survey, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY I FLORIDA, that Resolution No, 28-1962, Secondary
Roads, adopted by said Board on November 13, 1962, be, and the same is
hereby rescinded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the firm of Bailey-
Mooney-Post Associates be employed to make a survey of the primary road
needs in Monroe County, Florida, and to perform any and all services in
obtaining any right-of-way necessary to accomplish the four-laning of said
U. S. Highway #1 throughout Monroe County, and to make recommendations
to the Board of County Commissioners as to the priority with which said
highway should be four -laned, the type of repair, construction or reconstruc-
tion to be done, the engineering design recommended, and the right-of-way
requirements for such work, and other related matters,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the County Attor-
ney be, and he is hereby authorized to prepare a contract between Monroe
County, Florida, and the said firm of Bailey-Mooney-Post Associates, and
to submit same to the State Road Department for its approval, with a re-
quest that the fee be paid out of Monroe County, Florida Secondary Road
Funds,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOAR.D that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this
Resolution to the State Road Department for appropriate action,
