RESOLUTION NO. 30 -1962
SECONDARY ROADS
WHEREAS, Aero-Jet is starting to construct its plant in South Dade
County, Florida, and such construction will bring a large population into
said area, and
WHEREA~, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida feels that said population growth will extend to North Key Largo,
Monroe County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, said Board deems it feasible and advisable to construct
a road across North Key Largo and Card Sound, in order to connect said
area and South ;Dade County, and
WHEREAS, it is intended to construct said road and a toll bridge
across Card Sound, and
WHEREAS, there have been two possible routes proposed for said
road and bridge, and
WHE.REAS, it is the intention to pay for the cost of construction of
said road and bridge out of a bond issue to be validated, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary, prior to the construction and financing
of said road and bridge, to have plans showing the route of said road, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Florida Development Commis-
sion and the State Road Department of Florida be, and they are hereby
authorized to conduct a feasibility survey to determine the most feasible
route of the proposed Key Largo - Card Sound road and toll bridge in Monroe
County, Florida, and to report to the Board of County Commissioners their
findings under said survey.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the State Road De-
partment be, and it is hereby authorized to pay for the cost of said feasibility
survey out of Monroe County, Florida Secondary Road Funds, which said cost

will be reimbursed to said fund out of the proceeds of any bonds issued to
finance the cost of said road and toll bridge, if and when same is constructed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said
Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this
Resolution to the Florida Development Commission and the State Road De-
partment for appropriate action.
