Resolution 012-1963 RESOLUTION NO. 12 -1963 SECONDAR Y ROADS WHEREAS, The Florida Board of Parks and Historic Memorials owns and operates the John H. Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and the Bahia Honda State Park in Monroe County, Florida, and WHEREAS, said parks are badly in need of road construction, and WHEREAS, said Board of Parks and Historic Memorials does not have sufficient funds with which to construct the necessary roads, and expansion and/ or completion of said parks is being held up for said reason, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida desires to construct the necessary roads and/or parking areas in said State Parks, and to pay for the cost of such construction out of Mon- roe County, Florida Secondary Road Funds, and WHEREAS, said Board of County Commissioners deems the con- struction of said roads an emergency measure, in order that said parks may be placed in full operation, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the State Road Department be, and it is hereby authorized to construct the necessary roads and/or parking areas in state parks located in Monroe County, Florida as follows: 1. Roads in John H. Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, as designated by the Florida Board of Parks and Historic Memorials. 2. Road to new camping area and parking area in Bahia Honda State Park, as designated by the Florida Board of Parks and Historic Memorials. and to pay for the cost of construction of said projects out of Monroe County, Florida Secondary Road Funds as follows: 1. Construction work in John H. Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park not to exceed $61,000,00, 2. Construction work in Bahia Honda State Park not to exceed $23,000.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this Resolution to the State Road Department for appropriate action, as an emergency measure, Dated April 23rd, 1963.
