RESOLUTION NO. 1 -1964
SECONDARY ROADS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida has previously authorized the paving of Old State Road 4-A on Sugar-
loaf Key, from Eddie's Bait Basket on U. S. Highway #1 in a Southerly direc-
tion, through the property known as Pirates Cove on said Sugarloaf Key, and
WHEREAS, C. E. Jackson, the owner of lands through which said
road runs, has indicated to said Board that he would dedicate a right-of-way
of 66 feet, as shown on the attached plat, designated as "proposed dedication",
which would straighten out several bad curves now existing in the present
road, provided said new paving would be placed upon the proposed dedication,
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it desirable
for safety reasons to accept said proposed dedication, and to place the new
construction of road on said proposed dedication, and, in lieu of compensation
for such additional right-of-way, to abandon and have the State Road Depart-
ment disclaim the existing right-of-way through the properties as shown on
said attached plat, provided the proposed new right-of-way is obtained by
the said C. E. Jackson from all property owners through which said proposed
dedication runs, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOL YED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY. FLORIDA, that the State Road Department be, and it
is hereby requested to accept the proposed dedication as shown on the attached
plat, provided deeds for the new right-of-way are furnished by C. E. Jackson
from the owners of all the properties through which said proposed dedication
runs, and to place the new construction previously authorized as a secondary
road project upon the new right-of-way, and disclaim the existing right-of-
way, which will straighten out said bad curves now existing in Old State
Road 4-A.
BE IT FURTHER REBOL YED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of
said Board be, and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of
this Resolution to the State Road Department for appropriate action.
