HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 008-1970 RESOLUTION NO.8 -1970 WHEREAS, the Judge of the Criminal Court of Record of Monroe County, Florida and the Sheriff of Monroe County, Florida have requested that the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida assess an additional $1.00 as court costs against every person convicted for vio- lation of a State penal or criminal statute or County Ordinance, and deduct an additional $1. 00 from every bond estreature or forfeited bail bond re- lated to such penal statutes or penal Ordinance, in accordance with Section 18, Chapter 69 -111, Law s of Florida 1969, said costs to be used for law enforcement education for Monroe County, Florida! s law enforcement of- ficers, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that every Court created by the Con- stitution of the State of Florida or by legislative act in Monroe County, Florida shall assess an additional $1. 00 as court costs against every per- son convicted for violation of a State penal or criminal statute or County Ordinance, and deduct an additional $1. 00 from every bond estreature or forfeited bail bond related to such penal statutes or penal Ordinance, in ac- cordance with Section 18, Chapter 69 -Ill, Laws of Florida 1969, and that any costs so collected shall be used for law enforcement education expen- ditures for Monroe County, Florida I s law enforcement officers. BE IT FUR THER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of san Board be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to take the necessary action to establish under the Fine and Forfeiture Fund of the Monroe County Budget for the year 1969 -70 an account to be known as "Law Enforcement Education!!, for the receipt and disbursement of said costs. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that this Resolution . shall become effective May 1, 1970. Dated February 10th , 1970.
