RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT FOR RECORD
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Tobi has requested that the Board of County
Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida approve for record a plat known
as "PLANTATION TROPICAL PARK SECTION TWO, located in SW 1/4,
Section 33, Twp. 62 S., Rge. 38 E., Plantation Key, Monroe County, Flori-
dafl, and
WHEREAS, the County Tax Assessor and County Zoning Director
have recommended that said Board approve said plat for record, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the plat known as "PLANTATION
TROPICAL PARK SECTION TWO, located in SW 1/4, Section 33, Twp. 62
S., Rge. 33 E., Plantation Key, Monroe County, Florida" be, and the same
is hereby approved for record, and the Chairman and Clerk of said Board
are hereby authorized to sign the certificate of approval on said plat.

Dear Mr. Cormack:
On March 5, 1970, Mr. Joseph G. Moretti, Jr. ,brought the proposed plat for Hammer Point
Park on Key Largo by this office for my review and requested my clearance of the plat to
your office.
I note that the plat comprises 261 water-front lots of roughly 52' x 104' dimensions for
the parking of trailers. As stated in previous letters, this agency does not object to
the filing of these plats. If you will refer to my letter of Augus t 25, 1969, to you
regarding Boehme's Campsites, you will note that I stated at that time that we did not
object to the actual subdividing of land, which is, of course, the province of zoning
but that where it created high density, a condition requiring urban type utilities was
being created, and that eventually the quality of health and environment would be ad-
versely affected as the area is built up. In the case of lots of this size especially
where they front on the water, it appears to be virtually impossible to install an
individual sewage disposal system that complies with the requirements of the State San-
itary Code, and this places your local health department on the very sharp horns of a
dilemma when the individual property owner comes to them for an answer to his waste
disposal.
It is my hope that all of us who have responsibility for the health and welfare of the
citizens and the quality of the environment can develop a program for the prevention
and solving of the problems that we can foresee. Clearances of this sort are construed
as approval of individual waste disposal systems. This, of course, is not the case.

Dear Mr. Cormack:
The deficiencies noted in our letter dated February 17, 1970, have
been corrected by the surveyor and we can recommend this plat for
approval as far as the surveyor's work is concerned.
The road dedicated in this subdivision has been constructed by the
developer. It consists of a double course surface treatment which
is acceptable in accordance with County standards and specifications,
therefore a bond will not be required.

Dear Mr. Cormack:
We have. reviewed the tentative Plat entitled, "Plantation Tropical
Park, Section Two," and as far as the surveyor's work is concerned
we have noted the following discrepancies with regard to the Plat
Filing Regulations:
1. Drainage easements have not been indicated.
(Ref. Section D, paragraph 9.(e)).
2. Angles or bearings have not been indicated for side
lot lines.
3. There are several places on the plat where the year
1969 is referred to and this should be changed to 1970.
We would recommend that the plat be returned to the Surveyor so the
above mentioned discrepancies can be corrected.
