Resolution 093-1970RESOLUTION NO. 93-1970
WHEREAS, part of the Old Overseas Highway lying within
the confines of property owned by District School Board of Monroe
County, Florida, was paved recently from 33rd Street easterly
and,
WHEREAS, said School Board now desires to use its pro-
perty on which said road is constructed for a site on which to
place a new school and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners under its
Resolution 64-1970 requested the Florida Department of Transportation
to declaresaid paved road to be surplus but after the adoption of
said resolution it has now been determined that the Florida
Department of Transportation should have been requested to
abandon said road to Monroe County, Florida, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the area as shown on the attached
Right of Way Map outlined in red and described as that part of
Old Overseas Highway lying East of 33rd Street and West of property
owned by the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund and occupied
by the Department of Transportation Maintenance and Resident
Engineer's Office, be and the same is hereby requested to be
abandoned to Monroe County, Florida, for its disposition to the
District School Board of Monroe County, Florida to permit the
construction of said school.
