RESOLUTION NO. 98 -1970
WHEREAS, due to insufficent drains in the area between Cross Street
and Cow Key Road, Stock Island, Monroe County, Florida, it becomes
flooded during ordinary rains causing said area to be underwater for long
periods of times and is causing damage to properties located in said area,
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, deems it neces sary to provide drainage in said area as an emer-
gency measure, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the State Department of Transportation
be, and is hereby requested to provide the necessary drainage structure
and ditches along Cross Street and Cow Key Road from 7th Avenue to an
existing canal on the South side of Lincoln Gardens, No.2, a subdivision
on Stock Island, Monroe County, Florida, recorded in Plat Book 5, Page
90, of the Public Records of Monroe County, Florida, and to pay for the
cost of said drainage out of said department's maintenance funds,
BE IT FUR THER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD, that a certified copy
of this resolution by forwarded to the State Department of Transportation
for appropriate action.
