Resolution 130-1973 RESOLUTION NO.130-l973 WIIEREAS. the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County has recognized the need for various improvements in the community, and, WllliREAS, the Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program admin- istered by the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs offers the opportunity to strengthen the community development process through the conduct of a planning program, Now, Therefore, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County officially requests the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs to include Monroe County in its application to the U. S. Department of IIousing and Urban Development for local planning assistance funds for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1974. WIIEREAS, the Applicant has examined and duly considered said program and the Applicant considers it to be in the public interest and to its benefit to file an application under said Act and to authorize other action in connection therewith: NOW, TIIEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COM- ~IISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY. FLORIDA. in open meeting assembled In Marathon, Florida, this 6th day of November, 1973, as follows: 1. That the project generally described above is in the best interests of the Applicant and the general public. 2. That Jack K. Burke, County Development Director, be 11ereby authorized to file in behalf of the Applicant and to apply for any Federal funds that may be available for said program to be made to the Applicant to assist in defraying the cost of the program gen- erally described above. 3. That said Jack K. Burke, County Development Director, is hereby authorized to furnish such information and take such other action as may be necessary to enable the ApplicaBt to qualify for said program. -2- 4. That the Official designated in the preceding papagraph IS hereby designated as the authorized representative of the Applicant for the purpose of furnishing to the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs such information, data and docu- ments pertaining to the application for said program as may be required and connection with this application. 5.
