Resolution 142-1973• RESOLUTION NO. 142-1973 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION ADVOCATE THE FUNDING OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER OFFICE BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA. WHEREAS, there is a critical need for professional and consistent Medi- cal Examiner activities throughout the State of Florida, and WHEREAS, this activity is directly related to the criminal justice sys- tem for which the State has assumed a greater share of fiscal responsibility in recent years, and WHEREAS, the Counties have no control over the appointment of the Medical of the Medical Examiner and his responsibilities often extend beyond the bound- aries of a particular County, and WHEREAS, Monroe County presently provides funds in the annual budget to properly fund this activity with limited responsibility for the operation. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Mon- roe County, Florida: Section 1. That the Legislative Delegation is requested to advocate that the State of Florida assume fiscal responsibility for the requirements of the Medical Examiner as a part of the 1974 Legislative Session. Section 2. That a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the Board of County Commissioners of each County in the State of Florida with the anticipa- tion that each County will provide a similar Resolution to its Legislative Dele- gation.
