RESOLUTION NO.
9 -1972
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation, State of Florida,
has indicated to the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida that it intends to four-lane certain areas of State Road 5 (U. S.
Highway No.1) in Monroe County, Florida and has advised the Board of
the priority in which certain sections of said State Road 5 would be four-
laned, and,
WHEREAS, said Board of County Commissioners deems it expedient
to give priority to certain areas of said highway for four..laning purposes,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Department of Transportation,
State of Florida, be and it is hereby requested to four-lane the following
areas on State Road 5 (U. S. Highway No.1) in accordance with the
following priorities:
1. Lake Surprise to Tavernier.
2. The Marathon area from Knights Key up to and
including Fat Deer Key.
3. Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key and Lower
Matecumbe Key.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of
said Board be and he is hereby directed to forward certified copies of
this Resolution to the Department of Transportation, State of Florida,
for appropriate action.
