Resolution 013-1972RESOLUTION NO. 13 -1972 WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida that there exists serious traffic hazards of certain areas of State Road 5 (U. S. Highway No. 1), State Road 931 and State Road 905, and WHEREAS, said Board feels that traffic signals and/or flashing lights should be placed at said areas to insure the safety of travelling motorists and the public, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Department of Transportation. State of Florida, be and it is hereby requested to place the following traffic signals and/or flashing lights at the following locations: 1. A traffic signal activated by traffic at the intersection of State Road 931 and State Road 5 (U. S. Highway No. 1) in Marathon, Florida. 2. Flashing lights at school sites on State Road 5 (U. S. Highway No. 1), Marathon, Florida. 3. Flashing lights at the new Key Largo Elementary School on State Road 905, Key Largo, Florida. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of said Board be and he is hereby authorized to forward certified copies of this Resolution to the Department of Transportation, State of Florida, for appropriate action.
