RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MONROE COUNTY TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICA TION TO THE STATE OF
FLORIDA, DIVISION OF FAMILY SERVICES, FOR
FUNDS TO EXPAND SOCIAL SERVICES IN MONROE
COUNTY UNDER TITLES 4 AND 16 OF SOCIAL
SECURITIES ACT AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT TO CARRY OUT SUCH PROGRAM
WHEREAS, there is a critical need for social services to families
and individuals living in Monroe County that will prevent economic dependency,
enhance family functioning and self-support, and provide services to families,
the aged, and disabled; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Health and Rehabili-
tative Services, Division of Family Services, administe rs Federal funds under
Title IV and XVI of the Social Securities Act which must be matched by local
and/or state funds to provide such services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the submis sion by
Monroe County to the State of Florida, Division of Family Services, of an
application for financial as sistance under Title s 4 and 16 of the Social Securitie s
Act, is approved; and that if the application is approved by the Division of
Family Services, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida is hereby authorized to execute a contract with State of Florida, Divis ion
of Family Services, on behalf of Monroe County, Florida, subject to the approval
as to legality of the County Attorney.
