Resolution 111-1972 RESOLUTION NO. 111 -1972 WHEREAS. the Florida Department of Transportation, hereinafter called "DOTII and Monroe County, Florida hereinafter called "Public Body" are authorized to enter into an agreement by Section 163.01 of the Florida Statutes, as amended, which permits a public agency of the State of Florida to exercise jointly with any other public agency of the State, any power, privilege, or authority which such agencies share in common and which each might exercise separately, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 332. 02 of the Florida Statutes, as amended, the "Public Body" has the authority to undertake investigations" surveys, and plans necessary for airport improvement projects; and "DOT" has been granted sufficiently broad authority to function adequately in all areas of appropriate jurisdiction including the implementation of an integrated and balanced transportation system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the Mayor of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County. Florida is hereby authorized and empowered to execute an INTER LOCAL AGREEMENT between the DOT and the Public Body. Section 2. That the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida has authorized the expenditure of $15.000.00 for the purpose of the proposed project. Section 3. That the Proposed Project will be improvements to the Key West International Airport, Key West. Florida. Section 4: That the major items of design and construction will in- clude: (a) build up depressions in runway 9-27; (b) medium intensity runway lights, standby generator building, and installation of generators; (c) work items required in connection with Proposed Control Tower. -2- Section 5: That the Mayor of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County~ Florida is hereby authorized and empowered to file an application with the Federal Aviation Administration for federal funds in an amount of 500/0 of the total project cost.
