RESOLUTION NO. 52-1971
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, desires to request federal assistance to determine the feasibility
and advisability of a federal navigation project in Sister Creek, and
WHEREAS, said Board is empowered to provide the necessary local
requirements and is willing to accept all requirements for local groups as
required by the federal government, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that it hereby requests the district engineer,
United States Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville, Florida, to initiate a Section 107
feasibility and advisability study in accordance with the 1960 River and Harbor
Act as amended for possible improvements on Sister Creek, Marathon, Monroe
County, Florida.
BE IT FUR THER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the county engineers
be and they are hereby authorized to forward copies of this resolution to the said
district engineer and to take the necessary action to furnish any information
required by said Corps of Engineers in formulating the necessary project plan.
