Resolution 095-1971 RESOLUTION NO. 95- 1971 WHEREAS, Monroe County, Florida, has previously qualified for flood insurance under the Department of Housing and Urban Federal Insurance Administration Rules and Regulations, and WHEREAS, Monroe County, Florida, has to comply with Part 1910.3 (b) National Flood Insurance Chapter VII Federal Insurance Administration Department of Housing and Urban Development Title 24 Housing and Housing Credit 36 F. R. 18175.86 Laws of the United States of America. and WHEREAS, Monroe County, Florida, has complied with certain regulations prior to Statutory Deadline of December 31st, 1971, required under said law, and WHEREAS, said County desires to continue its certification and eligibility for flood insurance after date of December 31st, 1971, and WHEREAS, the Building and Zoning Department of Monroe County, Florida, are requiring building permits for all proposed construction or other improvements in the County requiring compliance with the Southern Standard Building Code, which said County has adopted, and WHEREAS, the County has employed adequate inspectors to insure enforcement of this Code, and WHEREAS, almost all buildings constructed under this Code have foundations down to bedrock to prevent floatations, and WHEREAS, if the Building Department Officials in issuing permits, feel to the best of their knowledge, that any area might be susceptible to flooding, said building officials are required to caution the Builder of this potential flooding hazard, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by said Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, that Monroe County be certified and that flood insurance continue to be made available to its citizens after December 31st, 1971.
