A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.
192-1992, CLARIFYING THE STRUCTURE AND
MEMBERSHIP OF THE AD HOC COMMITTEE ESTAB-
LISHED TO ADDRESS UNLICENSED CONSTRUCTION
ACTIVITY IN MONROE COUNTY

WHEREAS, the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners did
adopt Resolution No. 192-1992 on April 1, 1992, to establish a
committee to prepare a proposed ordinance for the regulation of
unlicensed construction activity in Monroe County; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution named specific persons as committee
members representing the Florida Keys Contractors' Association
and specific County officials as committee members; and
WHEREAS, the committee did meet on May 19, 1992, and de-
termined that it would be beneficial to the process of addressing
the problem of unlicensed construction activity to have represen-
tatives of the Sherift's Department, the Contractor's Examining
Board, and an owner-builder from a citizen's group participate in
the committee deliberations; and
WHEREAS, the committee has requested clarification as to the
appointment of additional members to the committee and the voting
rights of all members of the committee; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. Resolution No. 192-1992 is hereby amended as follows:
A. The committee members shall be Florida Keys Contrac-
tors' Association representatives Bill Smith, Dave Ringemann,
James Aultman and Walter Carson; the County Attorney, Sheriff,
Building Official, Code Enforcement Director,
Contractor's
Examining Board Chairman, Chairman of the Florida Keys Chapter of
the SBCCI, and an owner-builder who is a member of any citizen's
group.
For purposes of this section, any organization or
official named may provide a representative in lieu of the
official designated. Addi tionally, the owner-builder who is a
member of any citizen's group shall be designated by a consensus
or majority vote of the remaining committee members, with any
disputes to be resolved by the Board of County Commissioners.
B. Paragraph 3 shall be added to provide all members of
the committee shall be voting members.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of the Board held on
the lath day of June, A.D. 1992.
