RESOLUTION NO.;r~-1975
WHEREAS, the Boards of County Commissioners of Florida
have endorsed the return of the Fifth and Sixth Cent Gas Tax to
the individual counties for construction of secondary roads,
and
WHEREAS, it is felt by the Boards of County Commissioners
that better utilization of these monies would be by control of each
individual county, and
WHEREAS, HB-1742 sponsored by Representative Foster is in
direct opposition by providing that the Department of Transporta-
tion can expend the proceeds from the Fifth and Sixth Cent Gas Tax
without a request from any County Commission, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY CO~illISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that HB-1742 be vigorously opposed and
defeated by the Florida House of Representatives.
BE IT FURTHER RESOVED BY SAID BOARD that copies of this
Resolution be forwarded to the Monroe County Legislative Delegation.
