Resolution 096-1975RESOLUTION NO. 96=1975 WHEREAS, the Cabinet of the State of Florida approved the. granting to Monroe County of 13.5 million gallons of additional water per day due to the serious shortage of water in Monroe County, Florida, and WHEREAS, the Florida Keys Aqueduct.Authority is planning to build an additional pipeline in order to receive the above addi- tional water, and WHEREAS, the Legislature at its "recent session passed House Bill 2113 requiring a referendum on revenue bond issues, and WHEREAS, to the knowledge of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at no time have revenue bond issues required a referendum and said Board doubts the possibility of a re- ferendum passing on any revenue bonds required by said Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, and WHEREAS, said Board feels that more water is needed to help alleviate the economic conditions in said county, and WHEREAS, Bernie Hyde, Senior Planner, Division of State Plan- ning, has advised the Governor of the State of Florida, of the prob- lems with a referendum feature in House Bill 2113, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Honorable Reubin O'D. Askew, Governor of the State of Florida, be and he is hereby requested to veto House Bill 2113 for the reasons set forth above. DATED June 10, 1975.
