WHEREAS, Monroe County, Florida, through its Board of County
Commissioners, is, under the laws of Florida, vested with the power
of eminent domain, that is, the right to appropriate property, ex-
cept State and Federal, for any county purpose, including road pur-
poses, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Monroe County, Florida, to acquire.the property herein=
after described for the purpose of opening and establishing a county
road, the same being public, governmental -and county purposes and a
matter of public necessity; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the following described land situate,
lying and being in the County of Monroe, -State of Florida, to -wit:
A parcel of land in Government Lot 2, Section 10,
Township 66 South,.Range 32 East, Key Vaca, Monroe
County, Florida, and more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the West boundar-
of Government Lot 2, Section 10, Township 66 South,
Range 32 East, Monroe County, Florida, and the
Northerly right-of-way line of Old State Road 4-A
(Overseas Highway) thence run North along said West
boundary of Government Lot 2 for a distance of 623.16
feet to a point; thence at right angles to the East
for a distance of 20 feet.to a point; thence at right
angles to the South for a distance'of 617,55 feet to
a point on the Northerly right-of-way line of Old
State Road 4-A (Overseas Highway); thence South 740
20'00" West for a distance of 20,77 feet back to the
point of beginning, containing 0,28, acres.
be condemned, acquired and taken for the purpose of opening and
establishing a county road in accordance with the statutes of the
State of Florida in such cases made and provided, and this resolution
shall authorize Paul E. Sawyer, attorney for said Board, to take such
steps as may be necessary for the condemnation of said property and
to institute such proceedings as he shall deem necessary and proper.
