Resolution 007-1974 RESOLUTION NO. 7 -1974 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, herein called the "Applicant", after thorough consider- ation of the problem and available data, has hereby determined that the project described below is in the best interests of the general public: Development of a Comprehensive Master Plan for immediate and long term improvement planning for the Key West In- ternational and Marathon Airports, and, WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration of the U. S. Department of Transportation is authorized to grant funds to public agencies for airport master planning under provisions of Public Law 91-258, Section 13 of the Airport and Airway Develop- ment Act of 1970, and WIIEREAS, the Florida State Department of Transportation is authorized to grant funds to public agencies in the State of Florida for airport master planning under provisions of Section 334.02 of Florida Statutes, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, Monroe County, Florida, has determined that existing conditions warrent develop- ment of a comprehensive master plan for the Key Wes t International and Marathon Airports in accordance with FAA Order No. 5900.1. WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that an application for a planning grant be filed to apply for funds from the Fed- eral Aviation Administration. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COHf'.lISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, in open meeting assem- bled at Plantation Key, Florida, this 15th day of January, 1974, as follows: -2- 1. That the project generally described above is in the best interests of the Applicant and the general public. 2. That Jack K. Burke, Monroe County Development Director, is hereby authorized and empowered to file an application with the Federal Aviation Administration for and on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners, Monroe County, Florida. 3. That the Board of County Commissioners, Monroe County, Florida authorized the expenditure of $11,215.00 for the purpose of preparing the master plans. 4. That said Jack K. Burke, County Development Director, is hereby authorized to furnish such information and take such other action as may be necessary to enable the Applicant to qualify for said grant. 5. That the Official designated in the preceding paragraph is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the Applicant for the purpose of furnishing to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Florida Department of Transportation such information, data and documents pertaining to the application for said grant as may be required and otherwise to act as the authorized representative of the Applicant in connection with this application. 6. That certified copies of this resolution be included as part of the application for said grant to be submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Florida Department of Transportation. 7. That if such grant be made, the Applicant or Official designated in paragraph 4 above shall maintain such records necessary and furnish such information, data and documents as required by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Florida Department of Transportation to support the implementation of the project generally described aboved. 8. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. DATED January 15, 1974.
