RESOLUTION NO. 18-1976
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, that the
navigational aids on Looe Key Reef are inadequate, and
WHEREAS, due to the increased amount of boat traffic and
the fragile nature of the reef, said Board feels that additional
navigational aids should be placed on said reef as a safety and pro-
tective measure, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the United States Coast Guard be, and
it is hereby requested to install additional navigational aids on
Looe Key Reef in Monroe County, Florida, for the reasons hereinabove
set forth.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that the Clerk of
said Board be, and he is hereby directed to send certified copies
of this resolution to the United States Coast Guard for appropriate
action.
