HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 181-1975 RESOLUTION NO).81 - 1975 RESOLUTION REQUESTING LEGISLATION AUTHORIZING COUNTIES TO UTILIZE SECONDARY ROAD FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF BIKE PATHS. WHEREAS, currently there is no legislation whereby counties are authorized to utilize secondary road funds for the construction of bike paths according to county specifications, and WHEREAS, such legislation would enable the County of Monroe as well as many counties in the State a means by which said bicycle paths may be constructed, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the legislative delegation representing Monroe County, Florida in the Legislature of the State of Florida, be and they are hereby requested to introduce, support and enact legislation authori- zing counties to use a portion of their secondary road funds for the construction of bicycle paths according to county specifications. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY SAID BOARD that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Vernon Holloway, the Honorable Richard Renick, the Honorable Ralph Poston and the Honorable William A. Freeman, Jr. and to the State Association of County Commissioners with the request that said proposed legislation be passed by said Legislature at its 1976 regular session. DATED: December 9, 1975.
