RESOLUTION NO. 47 -1976
\~EREAS, Title IX of the Public Works and Economic De-
velopment Act of 1965, amended, provides grants under said act,
and
WHEREAS, under said act as administered by the Economic
Development Administration of the United States Department of Com-
merce will provide to the County of Monroe the sum of $1,122,504.00
in Federal Grant Funds and the County of Monroe's share of required
local match would be $374,168.00 in order to receive said Federal
grant to be used for the purpose of purchasing incinerators for
the unincorporated areas of Monroe County, said Federal grant and
County match will make available the sum of $1,496,672.00 for said
purpose, and
WHEREAS, by Monroe County Ordinance No. 9-1975, as amended
by Monroe County Ordinance No. 10-1975, the Board of County Com-
missioners of Monroe County, Florida, created the Monroe County
Municipal Service District and vested in said district the respon-
sibility of providing garbage, waste collection and disposal ser-
vices within the unincorporated areas of Monroe County, Florida,
and said district is the proper authority to use said grant monies,
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, is desirous of receiving the aforesaid Title IX
grant, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that when the Title IX, Public Works and
Economic Development grant monies together with said local match
become available to the County of Monroe that said County will,
upon receipt of same, provide said monies to the Monroe County Mu-
nicipal Service District for the purpose of purchasing incineration
facilities for use in the unincorporated areas of Monroe County,
Florida, and will provide that all such funds so furnished to said
District shall be returned by said District to the Monroe County
Board of County Commissioners in order that said monies may be used

by the Board to initiate and provide other projects as shall be
approved by the Economic Development Administration.
