A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF WASTE
MANAGEMENT, INC., TO SHRED AND DISPOSE OF
USED TIRES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
The offer dated July 17, 1992, of Waste Management, Inc. of
Florida, which is attached hereto and made a part of this
Resolution, to shred and dispose of used tires is hereby accepted
for such services up to a maximum amount of $14,500.00.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 5th day of August, 1992.

Dear Ms. Graboif:
Pursuant to your request for tire shredding rates covering the
shredding of any tires presently stockpiled at Long Key plus those
accumulated during the upcoming amnesty days. The following table
provides the County with the schedule of rates.
As we discussed the County shall issue a purchase order covering
the processing prior to Waste Management mobilizing its equipment.
The shredding will be performed at the Key Largo Transfer Station.

This proposal covers the labor and equipment to shred passenger car
and truck tires. Passenger tires can be derimmed for an additional
charge of 75 cents per tire. Derimming truck tires could be
performed for an additional $10.00 per tire. It is subject to
Waste Management being able to obtain the necessary permits to
transport its equipment to Key Largo.
The above referenced rate schedule provides the County with
incentive to store the tires as long as possible to reduce its
cost. This is also helpful to Waste Management as it allows our
company to spread the cost of travel days over more tonnage. I
trust this proposal shall be acceptable to the County.
