Zoning Department ORDINANCE NO. 011-1985 AN ORDINANCE OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1-1973, AS AMENDED, CODIFIED AS CHAPTER 19 OF THE MONROE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES AND KNOWN AS "THE MONROE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE" BY AMENDING SECTION 19-202(b) OF THE MONROE COUNTY CODE TO PROVIDE FOR ACCESSORY USES IN RU-7 ZONING DISTRICTS AS FOLLOWS: DRUG AND SUNDRY SHOPS, FLORISTS, GIFT SHOPS, CONFECTIONARY STORES, RESTAURANTS, COFFEE SHOPS, NEWSSTANDS, PERSONAL SERVICES AND COCKTAIL LOUNGES, STOCK BROKERS, TRAVEL AGENTS, ACCOUNTANTS AND ATTORNEYS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE TO THE EXTENT OF ANY SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION OF THIS ORDINANCE IN THE MONROE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. Article IX of Chapter 19, Section 19-202(b) is hereby amended to read as follows: "(b) Accessory Uses Permitted. (1) Hotels, motels, and tourist accommodations. Any hotel, motel, or tourist accommodation facility in any RU-7 district containing twenty-five (25) rental units or more shall be permitted to establish accessory uses within the principal buidling as follows: Drug and sundry shops, florists, gift shops, confectionary stores, restaurants, coffee shops, newsstands, personal services and cocktail lounges, stock brokers, travel agents, accountants and attorneys." Section 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. Section 4. The provisions of this Ordinance shall be included and incorporated in the Code of Ordinances of the County of Monroe, Florida, as an addition or amendment thereto, and shall be appropriately renumbered to conform to the uniform numbering system of the Code. Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon receipt of official notice from the Office of the Secretary of the State of Florida that this Ordinance has been filed with said Office.
