A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONR~I)NtCQ:(J~K:~' , IfIrORIDA, REQUESTING ALL CITIZENS OF
MONRdE BbUN'l'Y' TO EXERCISE THEIR UTMOST RESTRAINT IN
WATER USAGE IN ORDER TO CONSERVE THE AVAILABLE SUPPLY
OF WATER.
WHEREAS, due to the recent devastation caused by the passage
of Hurricane Andrew, the well fields which supply water for the
Florida Keys have become compromised; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority's allocation of
water to the Florida Keys has been reduced and curtailed in an
effort to meet the demands of other users during this emergency
period; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The Board hereby requests all citizens of Monroe
County to exercise their utmost restraint in water usage in order
to conserve the available supply of water and to assure that all
of the citizens of Monroe County have adequate water for their
essential needs.
Section 2. The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to The Key West Citizen, The
Keynoter and The Reporter newspapers.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a special meeting of said Board held
on the 27th day of August, A.D. 1992.
