RESOLUTION NO. 401 -1992
A R~SO~9~I.O~l iOF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
~\:&t;~OE: ~OtJNTY , FLORIDA, NAMING THE PROPOSED STOCK
ISLAND PARK IN MEMORY OF BENJAMIN BERNSTEIN.
WHEREAS, on June 29, 1992, the Board of County Commissioners
accepted staff I s recommendation to grant approval to negotiate
a contract with Riviera Enterprises, Inc. for the purchase of
11.53 acres of property located at Fifth Avenue and Fifth Street
Stock Island, Monroe County, Florida, for use as a Park; and
WHEREAS, on June 29, 1992, the Board of County Commissioners
expressed its intent to honor the request of the Seller that the
Park to be constructed on the afore-mentioned property be named
in memory in Benjamin Bernstein; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1.
That the Park to be constructed on the
property located at Fifth Avenue and Fifth Street, Stock Island,
Monroe County, Florida, shall be named in memory of Benjamin
Bernstein.
Section 2.
That the Public Works Department is hereby
directed to install and maintain a sign on the property when said
Park is completed stating that the Park is named in memory of
Benjamin Bernstein.
Section 3.
That the County officers, departments and
agencies are hereby directed to recognize and use the name of the
Park on all here-after issued County maps, signage and brochures
showing County parks.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a special meeting of the Board held on
the 27th day of
August
