Resolution 424-1992 Planning Department RESOLUTION NO. 424-1992 A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (BOCC) REQUESTING FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS A SIXTY ( 60) DAY TIME EXTENSION FOR THE TRANSMITTAL OF THE COUNTY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS, AND FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, Hurricane Andrew has caused severe dislocation throughout South Florida; and WHEREAS, some of the County' s consultants are located within the area devastated by the storm; and WHEREAS, staff anticipates that they will require an addition- al sixty days in order to make up for the days lost due to Hurri- cane Andrew; and WHEREAS, submitting the Land Development Regulations by the deadline originally proposed will result in substandard Land Development Regulations being submitted; and WHEREAS, this Board and the citizens of Monroe County wish to provide the DCA with the best possible work product; and WHEREAS, County staff has been forced to fall behind schedule due to regular power failures and storm-related duties; NOW THERE- FORE f BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT: The Board hereby requests that the Department of Community Affairs grant the County 60-day time extension to allow for ade- quate preparation time.
