ORDINANCE NO.
4 _ 1977
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND ENABLING THE BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS OUT OF THE GENERAL
REVENUE FUND OF THE MONROE COUNTY BUDGET FOR THE
MONROE COUNTY COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN;
LIMITING THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH SAID FUNDS MAY BE
USED BY SAID COMMISSION TO BE A COUNTY, WELFARE AND
PUBLIC PURPOSE; REPEALING ALL SPECIAL LAWS, ORDI-
NANCES, AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT WITH'lHIS
ORDINANCE TO THE EXTENT OF SAID CONFLICT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Monroe
County, Florida, may appropriate the sum of $500.00 out of its
General Revenue Fund of the Monroe County Budget for the fiscal year
1976-77 to the Monroe County Commission on the Status of Women for
the purpose of serving in an advisory capacity to the Board in re-
spect to all matters pertaining to the status of women, including,
but not limited to, education, employment, discrimination and any
other areas relative thereto, and the Clerk is hereby directed to make
payment in accordance with this ordinance.
Section 2. Any funds appropriated hereunder shall be
expended by said Monroe County Commission on the Status of Women
for the payment of the following enumerated direct expenses of the
Commission; postage, stationery, printing charges, newspaper announce-
travel
ments, building renta~/and registration for seminars or conferences
all of which are incurred by the Commission in performance of its
duties to the Board.
Travel and conference or seminar registration
expenses shall be prior approved pursuant to Chapter 112 of the
Florida Statutes. All other expenses as enumerated above shall be
payable to the Commission submitting to the Clerk of the Board
request for a purchase order. Said request for purchase order shall
be processed in accordance with the customary procedure used by the

Clerk of the Board for payment of County funds.
Section 3. The operation of said advisory commission and
the funds expended therefore are hereby decreed to be a County,
welfare and public purpose.
Section 4. All special laws, ordinances, resolutions,
rules and regulations in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of said conflict.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect upon receipt
of the official acknowledgment from the Department of State acknow-
led~ing receipt of certified copy of this Ordinance and that said
Ordinance has been filed in said office.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN that on
~uesday, February 15, 1977 at 7:00 P.M. at the Monroe County
Sub-Courthouse, Marathon, Florida, the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, intends to consider the adoption
of the following County Ordinance:
