ORDINANCE NO. 10-1976
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE BUILDING DEPART~1ENT
OF t10NROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO ISSUE BUILDING
PEID1ITS FOR ANY MULTI-HOUSING DEVELOP}ffiNTS WITH-
IN THE UNINCORPOFATED LIMITS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BUILDING
PEID1ITS FOR SINGLE FAMILY UNITS, DUPLEX UNITS,
COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, AND ADDITIONS TO EXISTING
BUILDINGS, IF THE PROPERTY IS PROPERLY ZONED;
SETTING INTERIM DENSITY FACTORS FOR ALL TYPES OF
BUILDING UNITS OF NOT MOP~ THAN FIVE (5) UNITS
PER ACRE; LIMITING THE PERIOD OF TIME IN WHICH
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL REMAIN IN EFFECT; AND PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1.
No Building Permit for the construction of
any multi-housing development within the unincorporated limits of
Monroe County, Florida, shall be issued by the Building Department
of tfunroe County, Florida, while this Ordinance is in effect.
Section 2.
Building Permits may be lssued for single
family units, duplex units, commercial buildings, and additions to
existing buildings, if the property is properly zoned.
Section 3.
There is hereby set an interim density factor
for all types of building units of not more than five (5) units per
acre.
Section 4.
This Ordinance shall stay in effect until
June 30, 1976, after which time same shall become null and void
and of no force and effect.
Section 5.
This Ordinance shall be deemed to be filed
and shall take effect when a copy has been accepted by the postal
authorities of the government of the United States for special de-
livery by registered mail to the Department of State.
