Ordinance 012-1976ORDINANCE NO. 12- 1976 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF MONROE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 7 - 1973 THE SAME BEING ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE ADOPTION OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE 1973 REVISION AS ADOPTED BY THE SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE CONGRESS, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED FOR HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR REQUIREMENTS AND SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR BUILDING PERMITS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR ANY VIOLATIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; REPEALING ALL SPECIAL LAWS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, RULES AND REGULATIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF SAID CONFLICT;AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." BY PROVIDING FOR THE AUTOMATIC ADOPTION OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE AS PROMULGATED BY THE SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE CONGRESS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Section 1 of Monroe County Ordinance No. 7-1973 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 1. That the Standard Building Code, as presently adopted by the Southern Building Code Congress International, Inc. and all future revisions thereto are hereby adopted as the Monroe County, Florida Building Code and shall be applicable to all building within the unincorporated areas of Monroe County, Florida, unless expressly rejected or modified by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida by ordinance. " It is the intent that said code shall serve to set forth the minimum requirements for approved building and that said code may from time to time be added to, subtracted from or modified or amended by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida." Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon receipt of the official acknowledgment from the Department of State acknowledging receipt of certified copy of this Ordinance and that said Ordinance has been filed in said office by the Department of Administration, Division of State Planning pursuant to the requirements of Florida Statutes Section 380.05 and Florida Statutes Chapter 120.
