ORDINANCE NO. 14- 1976
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF MONROE COUNTY
ORDINANCE NO. 15 - 1975 THE SAME BEING ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE PER TAINING TO MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA;
ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE 1975 EDITION
AND AThLY AMENDMENTS THERETO EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE
PROVIDED FOR HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR A SUPPLEMENT TO
SAID NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE 1975 EDITION; DECLAR-
ING VIOLATIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE MISDEMEANORS; PRO-
VIDING A PENALTY FOR ANY SAID VIOLATION; PROVIDING
THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL NOT APPLY TO ANY MUNICI-
PALITY IN MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA; REPEALING ALL
SPECIAL LAWS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, RULES AND
REGULATIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH TO THE EXTENT OF
SAID CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 11
BY PROVIDING FOR THE AUTOMATIC ADOPTION OF THE
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE 1975 AND REVISIONS AS
PROMULGATED BY THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOC-
IA TION PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DA TE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Section 1 of Monroe County Ordinance No. 15 - 1975
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follow s:
"Section 1. That the National Electrical Code 1975, as presently
adopted by the National Fire Protection Association and all future revisions
thereto are hereby adopted as the Monroe County, Florida Electrical Code and
shall be applicable to all building within the unincorporated areas of Monroe
County, Florida, unless expressly rejected or modified by the Board of County
Commis sioners of Monroe County, Florida by ordinance. 11
It is the intent that said code shall serve to set forth the minimum
requirements for approved electrical systems and that said code may from time
to time be added to, subtracted' from or modified or amended by the Board of
County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida. 11
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon receipt of the
official acknowledgment Erom the Department of State acknowledging receipt
of certified copy of this Ordinance and that said Ordinance has been filed in
said office by the Department of Administration, Division of State Planning
pursuant to the requirements of Florida Statutes Section 380.05 and Florida
Statutes Chapter 120.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN that on
Tuesday, May 4, 1976, at 2:00 P. M, at the Sub Courthouse in Marathon, Monroe
County, Florida, the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA intends to consider the adoption of the following County Ordinance:
