ORDINANCE NO. 22 -1975
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT
OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO ISSUE BUILDING
PERMITS FOR ANY MULTI-HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS WITHIN
THE UNINCORPORATED LIMITS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PER-
MITS FOR SINGLE FAMILY UNITS, DUPLEX UNITS, COM-
MERCIAL BUILDINGS, AND ADDITIONS TO EXISTING
BUILDINGS, IF THE PROPERTY IS PROPERLY ZONED;
SETTING INTERIM DENSITY FACTORS FOR ALL TYPES OF
BUILDING UNITS OF NOT MORE THAN FIVE (5) UNITS
PER ACRE; PROHIBITING A ZONING CHANGE WHILE ORDI-
NANCE IS IN EFFECT; LIMITING THE PERIOD OF TIME
IN WHICH THIS ORDINANCE SHALL REMAIN IN EFFECT;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA;
Section 1.
No Building Permit for the construction of any
multi-housing development within the unincorporated limits of Monroe
County, Florida, shall be issued by the Building Department of
Monroe County, Florida, while this Ordinance is in effect.
Section 2.
Building Permits may be issued for single
family units, duplex units, commercial buildings, and additions to
existing buildings, if the property is properly zoned.
Section 3.
There is hereby set an interim density factor
for all types of building units of not more than five (5) units per
acre.
Section 4.
No change in zoning shall be permitted or made
while this Ordinance is in effect.
Section 5.
This Ordinance shall stay in effect until
March 31, 1976, after which time same shall become null and void and
of no force and effect.
Section 6.
This Ordinance shall be deemed to be filed and
shall take effect when a copy has been accepted by the postal author-
ities of the government of the United States for special delivery by
registered mail to the Department of State.
