A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE COASTAL MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM TO FUND A PROJECT FOR ESTABLISHING A
PROGRAM OF INTERAGENCY COORDINATION RELATING
TO THE KEYS MARINE RESOURCE

WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 17-24, Florida
Administrative Code, the Department of Environmental
Regulation is to provide for the administration of coastal
management funds; and
WHEREAS, the Department will administer the program
consistent with the intent and purposes of the Florida
Coastal Zone Management Act of 1978, and the Federal Coastal
Zone Management Act of 1972 as amended, and
WHEREAS, funds up to $60,000.00 are available with a
50/50 match requirement, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County has realized a need to establish
a program to encourage inter-agency coordination between the
various agencies and marine institutes involved in the study
and protection of the Keys marine resource, and
WHEREAS, coordination between these numerous entities
is essential in our community, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
1. That the County Administrator is hereby authorized
to submit an application for grant funds to the Department
of Environmental Regulation Coastal Management Program to
implement a program to establish inter-agency coordination
between the various agencies and marine institutes involved
in the study and protection of the Keys marine resource, and
2. That this resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption by the Commisson and the execution
by the Presiding Officer and Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board
held on the 20th day of February , A.D. 1991.
