A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
CJ"(' CT, COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF
:.'ONfH:- e.,'u:nY.FLAA GRANT APPLICATION TO THE COASTAL MANAGEMENT
.1 PROGRAM TO EVALUATE INJECTION WELL IMPACT ON
GROUND AND NEARSHORE WATER

WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 17-24, Florida
Administrative Code, the Department of Environmental
Regulation is to provide for the administration of coastal
management funds; and
WHEREAS, the Department will administer the program
consistent with the intent and purposes of the Florida
Coastal Zone Management Act of 1978, and the Federal Coastal
Zone Management Act of 1972 as amended, and
WHEREAS, $50,000.00 in funds are available with a 50/50
match requirement, and
WHEREAS, Monroe County has determined that there is a
need for an on-going water quality monitoring program in
order to establish and develop human and environmental
related standards for protecting Keys water, and
WHEREAS, components of the comprehensive plan address
the increasing need to establish such a program, now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
1. That the County Administrator is hereby authorized
to submit an application for grant funds to the Department
of Environmental Regulation Coastal Management Program to
study the injection well impact on ground and nearshore
waters, and that
2. This resolution shall become effective immediately
upon adoption by the Commission and the execution by the
Presiding Officer and Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Monroe County, Florida, at a r~~lar meeting of said
Board held on the Jt;t7J day of ~rIt4"'j--' A.D. 1991.
